At Gateway we encourage children to behave in a natural and responsible way, always mindful of the needs of others. We run a rolling leadership system at the school where all children are given responsibilities within their house and have the opportunity to develop peer leadership skills throughout their time at Gateway.
From Year 3 children join one of four houses: Barnardo, Brunel, Jenner and Seacole, named after famous Victorian figures. Gateway’s House System not only gives children the opportunity to compete in a healthy environment, but also gives them a wider sense of family, belonging, loyalty and pride beyond their class and year group.
