Parents' Community
Friends of Gateway (FOG)
Gateway School prides itself on its strong relationship with parents. We aim to communicate regularly with parents about school issues without swamping them with information. We operate an open door policy where parents can come and see us at any time to talk about any issue. If you feel like contacting Headmaster Steven Wade please free to do so now or at any time.
Gateway has a very active and lively parents’ association, Friends of Gateway (FOG). It is run by a friendly bunch and provides a strong social scene for many Gateway parents, offering a particularly warm welcome to children and parents who are new to the area.
The primary aim of FOG is to run social events for the enjoyment of all parents and children. The secondary aim is to use social events for fundraising to benefit the school and local charities. A committee of elected officers and year representatives oversees the organisation of the four main events in the FOG calendar: Christmas Fair, Spring Quiz, Summer Fun Day and the Summer Dance for parents and staff.
Every parent with a child enrolled at Gateway, and every member of staff, has automatic membership of FOG, and is welcome to attend meetings and vote at the Annual General Meeting.
